Communications Coordinator
Location: Remote
Terms: 1099 contract position, expected 5-8 hours per week.
fixed 8 month contract with possibility of renewal
Compensation: $900 per month
Start Date: November 1, 2025
RESPONSIBILITIES
The Communications Coordinator will play a key role in supporting the organization's communications strategy. This position will be responsible for assisting with the development and implementation of various communication initiatives including:
• Crafting RFC’s monthly newsletter & maintaining newsletter archive
• Soliciting and cross-posting social media content from students for campus-specific events
• Designing & posting RFC general and evergreen social media content on an as-request basis
• Generally managing RFC’s communications calendar
• Updating website content (no coding required)
• Meeting monthly with RFC Directors to co-craft RFC’s communications plan
QUALIFICATIONS
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Three years of experience with social media management and content creation
• Above average organizational and time management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Passionate about the organization's mission
• Reliable access to internet, computer and smartphone
• Experience using Action Network preferred
• Understanding of food justice issues preferred
TERMS
This is a remote position and can be based anywhere in the United States of America. Current staff are based in California, New York, Virginia and somewhere in between.
This is a contract position paid at $900 per month. It is a fixed-term, 8 month contract with the possibility of extension pending review at 6 months.
